| Thanks Everybody!!! |

Thanks everyone for the Birthday Wishes!! Really made my day (was somewhat scared about entering the quarter-century club).
It's been a very busy birthday week: Weds: Wine & Cheese at my house (some friends were out of town this weekend, and wanted to do something, and how could I say no to wine & cheese!) Thurs: dinner with marmaros at 3 Seasons in Palo Alto (fantastic restaurant coffman and mrsjadephoenix introduced me to...and my FAVORITE!) Fri (last night): ugh over-did it a little bit: Sake Bombs at Miyakes, beers and dancing at F&A's with the climbing crowd (too much sake...eating toast to try to recover...urggh) Tonight: Party!! This one I actually planned: dancing & drinking at the Buddha Lounge in downtown Mountain View. Hip urban hangout it is not, but they play a lot of hip hop I like, it usually isn't very crowded, and they are letting me have the "VIP" room for the partygoers (some odd arrangement with me guaranteeing them we will spend X dollars on alcohol or cover charges, or something). PSYCHED! Need to get over my hangover so I can enjoy it =)
Happy Saturday everyone! |

| woah! the internet is an incredibly small place |

I just went to look for the download of the song "Buy a Dog" by Luce that I am completely addicted to, and what do I see, but that a familiar "Moon over water" icon has also recently listened to that song as well (not sure what this feature is meant to do on mystrands, but cool!):

Totally awesome taste in music, coffman!

| feeling antsy |
[Jun. 21st, 2006|11:59 pm] |
Jumping on annieramays posts about getting ready to cut and run, been feeling really antsy with everything in life
ever feel like you're missing out on something, on whatever it is you *should* be doing, but no one has ever bothered to tell you what exactly that is? ok so no one should be telling me what to do with my life, but how about a hint?
got this wacky idea that I'd go off to China and do the whole teaching thing, but 1) I've never taught anyone anything 2) I would have to pay to do this with some programs (anyone understand how that works?) 3) I've got a good job I really like 4) Yes, yuppie I know, but I like the money said job provides 5) The BF is here 6) like I said, totally wacky idea and just a reaction to whatever is really bugging me?
the approaching "quarter century" b-day perhaps? hm |

| | my roommate shouting he's a stud ???? | ] | first live journal posting ever...
let's see: up at 5am to catch the 8am flight out of JFK home slept 2 more hours on the plane after seeing "Annapolis" (has anyone ever heard of this movie?)
luckily I'm still high from the weekend Amarna gathering It was so great getting to see everyone after way too long. I need to get back to the east coast more often.
Met the new intern today...he's the most enthusiastic person alive...seriously. Or he's really good at faking it. I pulled an intern project out of my ass at 6am this morning (3am west coast time) and he acted like it was the greatest idea he had ever heard.
Going to be insanely busy until Friday evening, when we head out on a canoe trip down the russian river! Last year, the weather and the water were both perfect.
There's a lot of noise coming from upstairs. Not sure what to think of it...L is yelling about being a stud, and I keep hearing his GF giggling and yelping. Very interesting. BTW: anyone know a couple of chill people looking for rooms in CA? We've got a really sweet place we'd like to keep... |
